Founder of World Cuisine: The Gaza war is a war against humanity, not a war of terrorism

World Central Kitchen founder José Andres said today, Sunday, that “the war in Gaza has become a war against humanity itself.”

Andres expressed his skepticism about the Israeli investigation into the strike that killed seven of his employees in Gaza.

Andres explained - in televised statements, according to what the British newspaper (The Guardian) reported on its website - “The situation is very complicated, and the perpetrator cannot investigate himself,” questioning Israel’s account of its investigation, which concluded that there were a series of serious mistakes committed by the officers that were responsible. About the attack that killed three Britons, three other foreigners and a Palestinian colleague during a food delivery, and that two mid-ranking officers were dismissed and generally reprimanded.

The Israeli army claimed in its investigation that an armed man climbed onto the roof of one of the trucks and “began firing his weapon,” leading to suspicions that “Hamas had hijacked the convoy.”

The World Central Kitchen founder added, "It is no longer about the seven men and women of World Central Kitchen who died in this unfortunate event; Israel is targeting anything that appears to move and has been doing so for a very long time."

Andres pointed out, "This no longer appears to be a war against terrorism. This no longer appears to be a war to defend Israel. Rather, it appears to be a war against humanity itself."

Andres also said - in a post on the social networking site reported by the English-language France 24 network today / Sunday / - that in light of the very complex matter, the investigation should be more in-depth, and that the perpetrator of the crime cannot be investigated himself.

Andres had previously accused the Israeli forces of targeting the organization's relief workers in Gaza, resulting in the killing of seven employees who held the nationalities of Australia, Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, in addition to a Palestinian with dual citizenship.
