Former US President Joe Biden's office announced that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, noting that the disease has spread to his bones, and that his family is reviewing treatment options.
Last week, Biden underwent a physical exam after a nodule was discovered in his prostate. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, with a Gleason score of 9 (grade 5), and metastasis to the bones.
A statement from the former US president's office stated: "While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management."
The statement added: "Biden and his family are reviewing treatment options."
