Dan Halutz, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, has acknowledged that Israel lost the war against the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip. This statement was relayed by Cairo's news channel, highlighting a significant shift in the narrative surrounding the ongoing conflict.

In his statement, Halutz emphasized that the only image of victory Israel could achieve would be the overthrow of Netanyahu's government. This comment comes amid the Israeli military's continued intense and unprecedented aggression on Gaza by air, land, and sea, now entering its 81st consecutive day.

The offensive has resulted in thousands of casualties, predominantly among children and women. Many victims remain trapped under rubble, unrecovered due to the ongoing bombardment and dangerous field conditions. Furthermore, Gaza is under a severe blockade, with stringent restrictions on the entry of fuel and vital emergency aid, exacerbating the catastrophic humanitarian situation.

Dan Halutz's admission reflects a critical viewpoint on the Israeli military strategy in Gaza and its outcomes. As the conflict continues, with its heavy toll on human life and stability in the region, such acknowledgments highlight the complexity and potential for reassessment of the situation on both sides.
