Essam El Din Mubarak, younger brother of former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, died on Friday at the age of 65.
Hassan El Ghandour, one of the founders of "Mubarak Sons" movement, revealed that he contacted Karima Essam El Din Mubarak, who confirmed her father’s death following a long struggle with illness.
Moreover, El Ghandour noted that Mubarak lived in Cairo after moving from Menoufia.
He also affirmed that he was extremely down-to-earth, as he was leading a calm life away from the spotlight, being the president's brother. His last appearance was during the first anniversary of the former President's death.
The former president passed away last year on 25 February at the age of 91 in Al-Galaa Military Hospital.
Notably, he served as a commander in the Egyptian Air Force from 1972-1975, before becoming president following the assassination of former President Anwar Sadat.
