The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mourned with profound sadness the death of veteran Egyptian journalist Yasser Rizk, who passed away early Wednesday at the age of 57 after a sudden heart attack.
Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and all members of the ministry offered their sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to his family, colleagues, and friends.
Rizk was an example to be followed in his kindness and successful journalist career.
He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akhbar Al-Youm, former editor-in-chief of Al-Akhbar, and former editor-in-chief of Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Earlier this month, he had celebrated the release of his new book “The Fifty Years between January of Anger and June of Salvation.”
The book documented his honest living review and his exciting journalism career and followed the sequence of dangers and different beginning of our beloved country Egypt. It all started when the Egyptian people revolted against Late President Hosni Mubarak in 2011. This anger removed Mubarak after 30 years of ruling. Therefore, the Republic of July 23 came to its knee.
