Foreign Minister reviews Egypt's efforts to stop the war on Gaza

Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met yesterday, Sunday, with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in New York.

 Abdel Aaty reviewed Egypt's efforts to stop the war in Gaza and its prominent humanitarian role, providing 70% of the total humanitarian aid to the Strip. He praised the pivotal role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), appreciating the activities of the ICRC mission in Cairo.

The Foreign Minister praised the positions of President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) rejecting the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, the killing of unarmed civilians, the policy of starvation, and the targeting of medical personnel and humanitarian workers, warning of the serious repercussions of the military operations on the Strip.

The foreign minister also discussed the ongoing preparations for the fifth edition of the Aswan Forum, as well as Egypt's preparations to host the international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza once a ceasefire is reached.
