A telephone call took place today, Saturday, between Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, and Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the sisterly Lebanese Republic, during which they addressed developments in southern Lebanon and the ongoing efforts to reduce escalation and achieve calm.
During the call, Abdel Atty affirmed the complete rejection of any infringement upon Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of reducing tensions and prioritizing de-escalation in order to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon and the region.
Abdel Atty reiterated Egypt’s firm and unwavering position in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity, and independence of decision, and extending the Lebanese state’s control over all its territory.
