Ford Motor plans to have all-electric versions of the Ford F-150 pickup and Ford Transit van to market by mid-2022, according to CNBC report.
The new all-electric vehicles are expected to follow important vehicle launches such as a redesigned F-150 and new vehicles such as the Bronco SUV, Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E crossover.
Last June, during a Deutsche Bank auto conference the Chief Operating Officer Jim Farley, explained that the firm focused on technology advancements for the redesigned pickup, including a new electrical architecture, or brains, of the vehicle.
In contrast, the firm will start customer deliveries of the all-new, fourteenth-generation 2021 F-150 in November. For the first time, Ford's popular pickup is available with a hybrid 3.5-liter V6 with an EPA-estimated range of 700 miles.
Also, Ford's redesigned high-performance pickup is expected to launch for the 2021 model year to fight the recently unveiled Ram 1500 TRX. While the firm hasn't officially announced the 2021 F-150 Raptor yet, a member of the F150gen14 forum has obtained a color guide for dealers confirming the 2021 Raptor will be available with an exclusive new "Code Orange" finish.
Last year, Ford Motor Company announced their initiative to use recycled plastic in making vehicle parts in order to reduce environmental pollution.
The company plays a significant role in reducing plastic use as it recycles 1.2 billion plastic bottle a year; 300 recycled bottles are used for each vehicle.
The first step is cutting plastics into flakes then melting them down by using heat of 260 degrees Celsius; the last step is producing thin fibers to make vehicle’s carpets.
The EcoSport is produced in several factories around the globe, including Craiova, Romania and India which produces the Australian versions.
