Egyptian semi-national foundation, Akhbar Al-Youm launched an initiative to deliver the Al-Akhbar and Akhbar Al-Youm newspapers to its subscribers’ homes in cooperation with the Hala mobile application.

In a statement, Akhbar Al Youm Foundation pointed out that it allocates a hotline with the number 16303 to answer inquiries.

It manifested that this step comes within the framework of the Foundation's keenness to deliver the two newspapers to readers even at their homes, due to the current circumstances that the country has been witnessing amidst spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Akhbar Al-Youm is keen on delivering the correct and official information to its readers,” the statement read on Wednesday,

It stressed that this new procedure is taken out of the Foundation's interest in its readers who may not be able to purchase the two newspapers under the current circumstances.

For the first time in Egypt, Akhbar Al Youm presents a service called “Call us and we will send you newspapers of Al-Akhbar and Akhbar Al-Youm, to your home.”

It’s noteworthy that Egypt has recently taken strict precautionary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, including temporary closure of schools, universities, museums and archeological sites, reducing employees and sterilizing means of transport, government offices and tourist attractions.

Moreover, the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli further announced ion Tuesday a partial curfew nationwide from 7:00 evening to 6:00 morning and a complete shutdown of all entertainment places for the coming two weeks.

Egypt confirmed 54 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, including the 40 cases announced by the country’s health minister earlier in the day, and one death case of a 63-year-old Egyptian from Monofiya governorate, said the ministry’s spokesman Khaled Megahed in a statement.
