Argentina's football legend Diego Maradona was admitted Tuesday to a hospital in Argentina to undergo some medical tests, but it is not likely to be an emergency or related to coronavirus.
Local club Gimnasia y Esgrima coach, was reportedly transferred to the Ipensa clinic in La Plata for psychological reasons in order to conduct some tests and as a precaution, according to several news outlets.
Argentine newspaper Clarin reported that Maradona woke up on Monday morning in a bad mood, in addition to suffering from stomach problems and lack of the ability to eat.
The former Napoli striker who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and is vastly considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, last appeared in public last Friday on his 60th birthday before his match against Patronato.
Clarin indicated that Maradona was psychologically ill because he could not celebrate with his children on his 60th birthday.
He was also affected by the death of his sister's husband Raul Machuca, one of his close friends, after contracting Corona virus.
Maradona was admitted to hospital several times in 2004, 2018 and 2019.
