Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, made a telephone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration said on Friday that the Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated his Burkinabe counterpart on the occasion of Independence Day.
The call tackled all existing cooperation paths and discussed ways to develop them to broader horizons, in line with the priorities of the two countries at the current stage.
Abdel Aty expressed Egypt's keenness to engage in strengthening the structure of peace and security on the African continent and to address issues that represent a priority for sister African countries, stressing that Egypt will always remain supportive to its African brothers in all regional and international forums.
The most important regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed, as well as developments in the Sahel and Sahara region, the growing security challenges and their impact on West African countries, and how to deal with these threats are also addressed.
