Badr Abdel Atty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Mr. Hakan Fidan, to discuss the evolving situation in Syria.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination between Egypt and Turkey on regional issues, particularly concerning Syria, and called for concerted international and regional efforts to support Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Abdel Atty reiterated Egypt’s position advocating for a political solution owned and led by Syrians without external interference.

He stressed that any political process must respect Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and the interests of its people.

Additionally, the ministers agreed on the necessity of a comprehensive political approach that includes all segments of Syrian society, ensuring no exclusion of any national groups. This framework aims to pave the way for the restoration of stability in Syria and the country’s re-emergence as an active player in its regional and international environment.

The call also underscored the importance of adopting inclusive measures to address the ongoing suffering of the Syrian people and to promote a political process leading to long-term peace and stability.
