Yesterday, Sunday, Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Fouad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Minister Abdel Ati stressed the Egyptian position in support of the security and stability of Iraq, praising the remarkable development witnessed by Egyptian-Iraqi relations over recent years.
He valued the joint efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation and advance cooperation projects among Egypt, Iraq and Jordan within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism.
The two ministers also discussed the current developments in Syria, where Abdel-Ati affirmed Egypt’s position in support of the Syrian state and respect for its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, stressing the necessity of adopting a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the Syrian people without excluding any party in order to restore stability im Syria.
