FM stresses Egypt's interest in strengthening relations with Latvia

Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, on the sidelines of their participation in the activities of the Sir Bani Yas Forum in the United Arab Emirates.

Abdel Atty stressed Egypt's interest in strengthening relations with Latvia, and maintaining periodic political consultation between the two countries to coordinate positions at the bilateral level in various forums, pointing out to the importance of consolidating the foundations of cooperation between the two countries and extending them to include broader horizons, expressing Egypt's aspiration to enhance joint trade between the two sides.

The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in relations between Egypt and the European Union in light of the strategic and comprehensive partnership relations between the two sides. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
