Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration received, today, Wednesday, a phone call from European Parliament Member Antonio Lopez.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, said that Badr Abdel Aty expressed his appreciation for the stance of the European Parliament member, his support for Egypt, and his understanding of the challenges it is witnessing related to the increasing conflicts in the region and their economic and security impacts, stressing that common challenges require coordination and joint action from Egypt and the European Union.
The official spokesman added that Dr. Abdel Aty reviewed the unprecedented development witnessed in relations with the European Union after raising them to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as he stressed that Egypt aims through this partnership to deepen all aspects of cooperation between the two sides.
Ambassador Khallaf explained that the Foreign Minister reviewed the developments related to the war in Gaza, and stressed that stopping the Israeli aggression represents a priority that all international efforts must aim to implement, reviewing the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza Strip.
