FM, Slovenian President Discuss Ways to Boost Bilateral Co-op

Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptians Abroad, met on Tuesday with Nataša Pirc Musar, Slovenian President, during his visit to the Slovenian city of Bled.

FM conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Slovenian President, praising the friendship and mutual understanding that characterize Egyptian-Slovenian relations. 

Moreover, he expressed Egypt’s keenness to build on recent achievements to further enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels.

The meeting discussed prospects for strengthening investment and economic ties between the two countries. 

In this regard, Abdelatty expressed his aspiration to boost economic, trade, and investment cooperation, highlighting the opportunities offered by Egypt’s incentives and its strategic geographic position as a gateway to African markets. 

The talks also touched on promising fields of cooperation, such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and digitalization. 

Furthermore, FM extended an invitation to the Slovenian President to visit Egypt and attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a landmark cultural event reflecting Egypt’s civilizational and cultural stature regionally and internationally.

On the regional front, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people. 

He praised Slovenia’s principled positions in support of Palestinian rights, including its official recognition of the State of Palestine, which reflects its commitment to international law and human rights.

FM also expressed appreciation for Slovenia’s support for Egypt within the institutions of the European Union, commending its principled stances on several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

For her part, Slovenian President conveyed her greetings and appreciation to President El-Sisi, expressing her recognition of Egypt’s important and constructive role in the region, and the significant burdens it shoulders in managing complex regional files, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. 

She also voiced her aspiration to continue strengthening bilateral relations across various fields in a way that serves the common interests of both friendly nations.
