FM, Saudi Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Developments

Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, met today, Sunday, with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the Syria-focused meetings hosted in Riyadh.

at the ouset of the meeting, Abdel Atty praised the deep ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and emphasized the commitment to enhancing bilateral relations to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples in various political, economic, commercial, and investment fields.

Moreover, both ministers discussed the latest developments in Syria, reaffirming the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, empowering its national institutions to fulfill their roles, and advancing a comprehensive political process led and owned by Syria, with the participation of all components of the Syrian people, to restore stability across the country.

The discussion also addressed the situation in Gaza, with Minister Abdel Aty highlighting Egypt’s intensive efforts to achieve an immediate and sustainable ceasefire and ensure unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the strip. 

The two ministers further reviewed developments in Sudan, Lebanon, and the Horn of Africa.
