Today, Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Atty received Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Abdel Atty welcomed the Qatari PM during his visit to Egypt, which comes within the framework of intensifying communications and coordination to strengthen fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, and to build on the qualitative shift witnessed in bilateral relations at all political, economic and investment levels.
Regarding developments in the Middle East, the two ministers exchanged views on regional issues of common interest, most notably developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, where the two ministers stressed the constants of the two countries’ positions on developments in Gaza, and the necessity of achieving an immediate ceasefire in the Strip.
The two ministers also welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, which entered into force this morning.
