Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Abroad Affairs Badr Abdel Aty received a telephone call on Monday, July 8, from Mr. Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, to congratulate him on assuming his new position.
Dr. Abdel Aty appreciated this kind congratulations, and in turn congratulated his Hungarian counterpart on his country’s presidency of the European Union as of the first of this July, praising the great momentum witnessed in Egyptian-Hungarian relations in the past few years, ambassador Ahmed Abou Zeid, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration said.
Dr. Abdel Aty stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen political relations between Egypt and Hungary, maintaining bilateral consultation frameworks, and continuing exchanging high-level visits, expressing his aspiration to receive the Hungarian minister in Cairo during his expected visit next September.
Ambassador Abou Zeid explained that the Hungarian Minister expressed his aspiration to work together with Minister Abdel Aty to continue the process of strengthening bilateral cooperation, and to benefit from the momentum witnessed by Egyptian-Hungarian relations in achieving further advancement of common interests, for the benefit of the friendly Egyptian and Hungarian peoples.
