Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Comorian brothers during a phone call today, Sunday, with Mohamed El-Amine Souef, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Union of the Comoros.
Abdelatty emphasized the deep historical ties between the two brotherly nations and expressed Egypt’s readiness to offer technical expertise and training across various sectors, in line with Egypt’s focus on supporting development efforts in sisterly African countries.
He also stressed the importance of exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in fields such as education, health, and capacity building.
Moreover, FM underlined the need to continue joint efforts to activate existing cooperation mechanisms and to broaden cooperation into new areas that serve mutual interests.
The call also addressed a number of regional issues of shared concern, notably developments in the Horn of Africa, the situation in the Red Sea, as well as coordination within the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to serve common interests across various files.
For his part, the Comorian FM expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting African causes, affirming Comoros’ aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with Egypt at all levels and to benefit from Egyptian expertise in supporting national development programs.
