Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, received a phone call, on Thursday, from Lebanese Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Nawaf Salam, to consult on the latest developments in Lebanon.

Tamim Khallaf, official presidential spokesperson stated that during the call, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's full solidarity with brotherly Lebanon in facing current critical challenges.

Moreover, he emphasized the Egyptian position calling for a complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, stressing that any violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity constitutes a flagrant breach of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Abdelatty also underscored the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army, to enable them to fulfill their responsibilities in extending authority and sovereignty over the entire national territory.

In this context, he stressed the necessity of ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese state, as this is the fundamental pillar for preserving Lebanon's security and stability, supporting the state's choice, and safeguarding the resources of the brotherly Lebanese people.

Furthermore, FM reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to continuing its support for brotherly Lebanon and its national institutions, rooted in the fraternal ties and close bonds that unite the two brotherly nations, and in a way that contributes to enhancing Lebanon's security and stability.
