Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry held talks on Wednesday with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on the sidelines of the 155th session of the Arab League council, hosted in Cairo.
The Qatari FM arrived in Cairo on Tuesday. Al-Thani’s visit is his first to Egypt since a blockade by four Arab countries was imposed on Qatar in 2017.
In his word before the 155th session of the Arab League council, Qatari top diplomat thanked Egypt for its efforts during its presidency of the Arab league previous session.
He also underlined the importance to reach a peaceful and political solution to the Syrian crisis.
Moreover, Al-Thani valued the Al-Ula agreement signed early in January by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members at their summit in Saudi Arabia that ended the Gulf crisis, which lasted 3 years.
