Badr Abdel Atty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, held a phone call today with Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Palestinian Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister (FM), to discuss the recent Israeli attacks on Gaza and the West Bank.

During the phone call, Abdel Atty addressed the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. He condemned Israel's military actions in northern Gaza and highlighted Egypt’s efforts to scale up the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.

Abdel Atty noted that Egypt has provided more than two-thirds of the humanitarian aid to Gaza and criticized Israel's barriers to aid entry, including its control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing and restrictions on relief agencies, as well as the targeting of UN staff, particularly those of UNRWA.

Additionally, Abdel Atty discussed Egypt’s collaborative efforts with Qatar and the U.S. to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza and to negotiate the exchange of hostages and prisoners.

Moreover, FM also expressed concerns over the alarming situation in the West Bank, where systematic Israeli violations are ongoing. He condemned Israel's attacks on West Bank cities and refugee camps, as well as its attempts to expand illegal settlements, contrary to UN Security Council resolutions and international law. Abdel Atty stressed the need for the international community to actively support UNRWA’s efforts for Palestinian refugees.

In response, Palestinian PM expressed his deep appreciation to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their unwavering support for the Palestinian people. He praised the strong bonds between the two nations and Egypt's ongoing efforts to alleviate Palestinian suffering and advocate for their right to self-determination.
