Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry and his Norwegian counterpart discussed on Saturday the latest developments in Palestine over the phone, Foreign Minister Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

In press statements, Hafez added that the Norwegian Minister hailed Egypt's key role and intensive efforts that led to reaching a ceasefire between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

Moreover, both ministers underlined the importance of urgently encouraging the path of a political settlement between the Palestinians and Israelis, and reviving the peace process.

They also discussed efforts related to the reconstruction of the Gaza strip, in the light of the significant role played by Norway within the framework of Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) concerned with coordinating international aid provided to the Palestinian People.
