FM meets Spanish counterpart

Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met today, Wednesday, with José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, in line with the visit of King Felipe VI of Spain and his wife, Queen Letizia, to Egypt.

During the meeting, Abdel Aaty praised the advanced level of relations between Egypt and Spain, which have witnessed the elevation of relations to the level of strategic partnership. He welcomed the historic visit of the King and Queen of Spain to Egypt, which reflects the depth of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. The Minister also appreciated Spain's supportive stances towards Egypt within the European Union.

Regarding the regional situation, Minister Abdel Aaty briefed his Spanish counterpart on the outcomes of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit held on the 15th of this month in Doha, stressing Egypt's categorical rejection of Israel's violation of the sovereignty of Arab states. The Foreign Minister also reiterated Egypt's full condemnation of the ongoing Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
