Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, met on Sunday with Hisham Badawy, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Abdelatty expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates and the House of Representatives.
Moreover, he praised the fruits of this collaboration during the current legislative term, which has supported national causes and enhanced integration between the executive and legislative branches.
The Minister also expressed his pride in the House's legislative and oversight achievements, which have contributed to supporting the Egyptian state's interests and achieving its national goals, wishing the House continued success in serving the nation and its citizens.
For his part, FM emphasized the Ministry's commitment to maintaining institutional communication with the House of Representatives. This will be achieved through active participation in specialized committee meetings to review developments in Egyptian foreign policy and brief lawmakers on the Ministry's efforts regarding various regional and international files, as well as its consular services in caring for Egyptians abroad.
Furthermore, Abdelatty stressed the importance of continuous coordination with relevant parliamentary committees to support Egypt's foreign policy priorities, bolster state efforts to attract foreign investment, and drive economic development, in addition to safeguarding the interests of Egyptians expatriates.
He also noted the significance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy in the coming period by intensifying mutual parliamentary visits and expanding the establishment of parliamentary friendship associations with various countries, thereby contributing to Egypt's foreign policy goals and reinforcing its presence on the international stage.
