Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met, Saturday, with the European Union envoy to the Horn of Africa.
The meeting discussed the situation in Sudan, and the importance of a ceasefire in order to reach a comprehensive political solution, in addition to ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid to those affected. During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed Egypt’s keenness to support efforts to quickly reach a ceasefire, reach a political settlement, and achieve stability in Sudan.
Visions were also exchanged on a number of issues and developments taking place in the Horn of Africa region, in light of the challenges taking place in the Horn of Africa region and the escalation of tension there, in addition to addressing the situation in Somalia. Dr. Abdel-Aty stressed Egypt's keenness to achieve stability in the Republic of Somalia by supporting state institutions.
The two sides expressed their keenness to continue coordination and consultation on issues of common interest, confront current challenges, and work together to enhance security and stability in the region.
