Two phone calls took place on Friday, June 13, 2025, between Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and Mr. Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran. They discussed developments in the region following the military attacks launched by Israel on a number of sites inside Iranian territory early this morning.

During the two calls, views and assessments were exchanged regarding the repercussions of the unjustified and irresponsible Israeli aggression and its dangerous impact on the security and stability of the region.

During his call with his Iranian counterpart, Minister Abdel Aty emphasized Egypt's rejection and condemnation of the infringement on the sovereignty of states and the violation of their territorial integrity and unity. He stressed the importance of working to de-escalate tensions and prevent the entire region from slipping into chaos and expanding the scope of the conflict.

On the other hand, Abdel Aty's call with his Qatari counterpart also addressed developments in the efforts being made by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages and prisoners, as well as efforts to ensure humanitarian aid entry to the Strip amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
