Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, departed for Jeddah on Saturday, to participate in the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding the developments in the Federal Republic of Somalia.
FM is scheduled to deliver Egypt's statement during the meeting and hold a series of bilateral meetings with several officials on the sidelines of the session.
It is worth mentioning that, Somalia expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the countries and regional and international bodies that stood responsibly by Somalia's sovereignty and national unity, contributing to thwarting Israel's attempts to recognize the so-called "Somaliland" administration.
The Somali Presidency stated, in a communique reported by the Somali National News Agency on Thursday, that this responsible international stance embodies the international community's commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter, particularly the respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
