Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry received a phone call on Monday,from his newly-appointed counterpart, Vassilis Kaskarelis.

The phone call comes within the framework of both countries' keenness to continue close consultation and coordination on various files of bilateral cooperation and coordination in light of the distinguished relations between Egypt and Greece, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid.

At the outset of the call, Shoukry was keen to congratulate his Greek counterpart on assuming office, wishing him abundant success.

He also stressed Egypt's keenness to develop and deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in light of the unprecedented regional and international challenges.

During the phone call, the two ministers consulted on ways to advance bilateral relations in various political, economic, trade and energy fields in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.
