Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian held talks, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) 76th session hosted in New York.
During their meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between both countries, as well as a number of important regional and international issues of common interest.
Last Sunday, Shoukry headed for New York City to participate in the high-level meetings of the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) 76th session.
During his visit, Shoukry will take part in a number of events to present Egypt’s vision and its positions on current issues and developments as well as ways to support the pillars of peace and security at the international and regional levels, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.
FM’s participation also aims to highlight the Egyptian achievements in political, economic, and social domains and ways to build on them in order to promote common interests with friendly countries and international partners and to achieve the objectives of Egyptian foreign policy during the upcoming stage, Hafez stressed.
