Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, held a phone call, on Monday, with Yván Gil Pinto, Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the repercussions of the two earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.
Abdelatty began the call by expressing Egypt’s deepest condolences, on behalf of its government and people, to the government and people of Venezuela for the victims of the two earthquakes.
Moreover, FM extended sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
He also reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Venezuela during this painful humanitarian circumstance, emphasizing its readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to mitigate the impact of the disaster.
For his part, Venezuelan FM expressed his deep appreciation to Egypt for its solidarity, which was reflected in the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the earthquakes, praising the Egyptian stance supportive of his country during this critical time.
Furthermore, he briefed Abdelatty on the scale of human and material losses resulting from the earthquakes, as well as the ongoing efforts by Venezuelan authorities to contain the fallout and provide relief and support to the affected areas.
