Foreign Minister (FM) Badr Abdelatty, affirmed that the European Union (EU) highly appreciates Egypt's efforts in eliminating illegal migration and strengthening cooperation across multiple areas.
He stated, "We are working to solidify cooperation with the EU in scientific, technological, and cultural fields."
During a press conference with the EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean, the minister informed the European Commission that negotiations with Ethiopia regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) have reached a deadlock.
He emphasized the EU's commitment to supporting Egypt’s water security.
FM further stated, "There is a European consensus on the necessity of protecting Egypt's water security." Additionally, discussions were held on ways to support Egypt and alleviate the burdens it faces as a host country for large numbers of refugees.
