Egypt' Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry said on Wednesday that Egypt and Burundi enjoy historic ties based on cooperation, stability, and common interests.
In a press statement to a local newspaper, Shoukry added that the joint Egyptian-Burundian higher committee will be activated soon.
Moreover, FM added that all the cooperation agreements signed between both countries will be implemented.
Earlier today, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Burundi's President Évariste Ndayishimiye at El-Etehadiya's presidential palace.
Following their official talks, both leaders witnessed the signing of a number of Memorandums of Understandig (MoUs) in various fields.
