During a meeting with the Senate's Human Rights and Social Solidarity Committee, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, revealed that Egypt has established a comprehensive set of "red lines" within its foreign policy to address sensitive regional issues and safeguard national interests.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Abdel Hadi El-Qasabi and attended by Deputy Speaker MP Ahmed El-Awady, highlighted Cairo’s strategic stance on several critical fronts.
Moreover, FM clarified that these red lines include a categorical rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians and any attempts to partition the Gaza Strip.
He also emphasized that Egypt maintains a firm position regarding the unity of neighboring Arab states.
Regarding the ongoing crisis in Sudan, Abdelatty stated that Egypt has drawn a red line concerning the territorial integrity and unity of the Sudanese state.
Furthermore, he stressed that Cairo is closely monitoring developments to ensure Sudan’s stability and protect its sovereignty.
Additinally, FM identified any "existential harm" related to water rights as a major red line.
Moroever, he asserted that the right to water is a fundamental right granted for existence and life, declaring:"Egypt will not tolerate any infringement on its water rights. This file remains a strategic priority for Egyptian foreign policy and is a core component of national security."
Abdelatty concluded by stating that Egypt manages its foreign files with extreme caution and clarity to ensure the protection of national interests.
These red lines, he noted, serve as a fixed framework for Egyptian policy toward sensitive regional and international issues, reflecting a commitment to regional peace and stability.
