Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, received today, Wednesday, Mr. Omar Mohanna, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt), and Eng. Tarek Tawfik, former Chairman and current board member.
This meeting took place following the return of the Chamber’s delegation from Washington after participating in the "Door-Knock" mission, which the Chamber organizes periodically.
The meeting addressed the long-standing economic partnership between Egypt and the United States, highlighting it as a fundamental pillar of the strategic relations between the two nations.
In this context, FM emphasized the priority of strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation with the U.S. side. He praised the outcomes of the "Door-Knock" mission and its role in enhancing communication between the business communities of both countries.
Furthermore, Abdelatty highlighted the Egypt-U.S. Economic Forum hosted in Cairo in May 2025, which saw extensive participation from major American corporations and helped bolster cooperation between the government and the private sector.
He expressed Egypt's aspiration to hold the second edition of the forum later this year to strengthen institutional partnerships and open new horizons for investment.
FM also underscored that the upcoming phase aims to deepen ties between the Egyptian and American business sectors across several promising fields, including manufacturing, logistics services, energy, digital infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, healthcare systems, and tourism. These efforts are intended to attract further investment, boost exports, and create new job opportunities.
