Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aty met today, Thursday, with Yuriko Koike,
Governor of Tokyo, on the sidelines of her presence in Egypt to participate in the activities of the World Urban Forum.
Abdel Aty congratulated Koike on her re-election to her position for the third time in a row, expressing the Egyptian side's aspiration for continued cooperation with her during the coming period.
He praised the distinguished relations between Egypt and Japan and their rise to the level of strategic partnership, pointing out to the multiple areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries, and Egypt's great appreciation for Japan's contribution to a number of important projects in Egypt, most notably the Grand Egyptian Museum.
On the economic cooperation between the two countries, Abdel Aty appreciated the role of Japanese companies operating in Egypt, and expressed his aspiration to increase the number of companies during the coming period, and to increase the flow of Japanese investments to benefit from the promising investment opportunities available in the Egyptian market.
