Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry is set to hold talks, later today Monday, with the Deputy Head of Libya's Presidential Council (PC), Musa Al-Koni, at the ministry headquarters in Cairo.
Last Saturday, the Arab Parliament urged the Libyan parties to stick to their commitment to hold parliamentary and presidential elections on 24 December, warning against the ‘dangerous repercussions’ of their postponement.
In a statement, the Arab Parliament valued the results of the Paris International Conference, which ended yesterday with a large international presence.
It also added that holding the Libyan elections as scheduled would enhance Libya’s sovereignty and enable the government to deal with basic issues of security and stability and achieve the Libyan people’s aspirations.
