A phone call took place between Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and Konstantinos Kompous, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, as part of regular coordination and consultation to support bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Abdel Aty praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Cyprus, expressing his aspiration to advance these relations to broader horizons in various fields.
Minister Abdel Aty welcomed Cyprus' support for Egypt in various European Union institutions.
The two ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. Minister Abdel Aty briefed his Cypriot counterpart on Egypt's efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. The two ministers emphasized the need to continue coordination and intensify efforts to de-escalate and reduce tensions in the region, in order to support security and stability in the region.
