In line with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Expatriates' monitoring of the current military escalation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its grave implications for regional stability and international peace and security, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Expatriates, held intensive communications with several Arab and European counterparts.
These discussions included the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, France, Germany, Austria, and Spain, as well as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The consultations aimed to follow up on the concerning developments in Iran and discuss ways to support de-escalation efforts and contain regional tensions.
During these calls, Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to prevent the conflict from expanding or sliding into a comprehensive confrontation, which would have dire consequences for the region's peoples and resources.
The discussions also underscored the importance of intensifying regional and international coordination to maintain stability and protect international navigation and the interests of all states.
Furthermore, Egypt reaffirmed its condemnation of the targeting of the security, safety, and sovereignty of several brotherly Arab nations, declaring its full solidarity with them.
The communications concluded by affirming that there are no military solutions to regional crises; rather, dialogue and negotiation remain the sole path to addressing existing tensions.
Egypt stressed its continued engagement and communication with various active parties to support the path of calm, prevent the situation from worsening, and safeguard regional and international peace and security.
