Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, received on Sunday, George Elombi, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
Abdelatty congratulated the Bank’s President on assuming his new duties, praising the strong partnership between Egypt and Afreximbank and expressing his aspirations toward achieving economic and commercial integration among African nations.
During the meeting, FM commended the Bank's role in promoting intra-African trade and activating the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
Moreover, he emphasized Egypt's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Bank in this context, as well as the potential to diversify existing cooperation frameworks to provide further support for the private sector and both Egyptian and African investors.
Furthermore, Abdelatty expressed his hope to increase Egypt's investment portfolio with the Bank, highlighting the advantages and incentives currently provided by the Egyptian government for various projects, alongside Egypt's vast potential in the logistics, industrial, and agricultural sectors.
He also welcomed the announcement of the establishment of the African Trade Center in Cairo, noting that it reflects the priority Egypt places on achieving the common interests of the African continent.
