On Wednesday, Badr Abdelatty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, held a meeting in Beirut with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Bou Habib.

According to Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's unwavering support for Lebanon during its current difficulties.

He outlined Egypt's proactive measures aimed at securing an immediate ceasefire, managing the escalating situation in Lebanon, and promoting de-escalation.

The Foreign Minister denounced the severe Israeli aggression against Lebanese territory and the infringement of Lebanese sovereignty, reaffirming Egypt's commitment to Lebanon's security and safety.

The Spokesperson further noted that the Foreign Minister highlighted the necessity of enforcing Security Council Resolution 1701, which includes strengthening the Lebanese Army and facilitating its return to the southern region.

He reiterated Egypt's comprehensive support for Lebanon's state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army, which he identified as the key entity for maintaining security and stability in the country.

Additionally, he underscored the critical need to address the presidential vacancy through national consensus and Lebanese ownership, free from external influences.
