Florence Pugh to Star in "The Wonder" Movie Adaptation

English actress Florence Pugh will star in the adaptation of Emma Donoghue's psychological thriller novel "The Wonder".

Set in the Irish Midlands in 1859, an English nurse Lib Wright travels to a tiny village to delve into the case of 11-year-old Anna O'Donnell who has survived without food for months. Tourists flock to see the "miracle" and a journalist has come to cover the sensation as two strangers transform each other's lives in a story of love pitted against evil.

Sebastian Lelio is directing from a screenplay adapted by Alice Birch. "The Wonder" is produced by Ed Guiney and Tessa Ross.

Pugh is also set to star in Universal's big-screen adaptation of Nita Prose's debut novel, "The Maid".

The access will be seen next in Marvel's highly-anticipated movie “Black Widow”, starring Scarlett Johansson.
