Air traffic at Landvetter Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden, was suspended for several hours on Thursday following the sighting of a drone in the area.
According to local media reports, Swedavia, the airport’s operating company, confirmed that police had resolved the incident and that flight operations had resumed.
Swedavia’s flight list showed that two incoming flights from Munich and Frankfurt had to be diverted.
The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported that both aircraft were rerouted to Copenhagen, located about 230 kilometers to the south. Departures from Gothenburg to Munich and Frankfurt were also cancelled.
This incident is the latest in a growing series of drone sightings over European airports in recent weeks, many of which have been blamed on Russian interference.
