Regular flight operations resumed at Munich Airport on Sunday morning following a temporary suspension the previous night due to reports of suspicious activity, according to airport and police officials.

A spokesperson for the airport said the disruption was limited, with only three flights diverted late on Saturday evening. One of the affected aircraft later returned and landed in Munich after operations were restored.

The Federal Police reported that several individuals had observed what they described as “suspicious activity,” prompting air traffic control to suspend operations at around 10 p.m. for roughly half an hour. A second brief suspension occurred around 11 p.m.

Authorities did not immediately confirm whether the reports were related to possible drone sightings, and a police spokesperson declined to provide further details on Sunday morning.

Earlier this month, air traffic at Munich Airport, the main hub of Bavaria, was suspended for two consecutive nights following suspected drone activity. That incident affected around 10,000 passengers, forcing some to spend the night on temporary beds or sleeping mats inside the terminal.
