At least 14 people were killed and 5 others were missing, on Wednesday evening, as a result of severe floods that hit several earthquake-affected areas in southeastern Turkey, according to Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu.
And local media said that the death toll is likely to rise, as it is believed that several other people are still missing, according to the German news agency "DPA".
Twelve people died in Sanliurfa province, which borders Syria, while two people died in Adiyaman province, 110 kilometers to the north, according to the Turkish Anadolu news agency.
It is worth noting that a devastating earthquake struck the region at dawn on the 6th of February, killing about 48,000 people and evacuating about two million people to temporary shelters, such as tents and containers.
Meteorologists said that heavy rains are expected to continue to fall in the region.
