The death toll in Indian and Nebal's coastal cities rose to at least 180 people killed this week after four days of heavy rains triggered flash flooding that swamped the Indian Uttarakhand province and neighboring Nepal counties.

Indian authorities revealed that at least 55 people died as heavy downpours and flash floods struck while international media reported that 88 were killed in neighboring Nepal.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by Indian media,  the Department for Emergency Situations said: “At least fifty-five citizens were killed and five others are missing as heavy rain lashed townships from Oct. 17.”

In response to this disaster, rescue teams have been deployed to Uttarakhand, Rishikesh, and Kerala to save the people there from the scourge of the recent flash floods, which have led to landslides in several parts of Kerala.

Meanwhile, many hapless families in the high-range hamlet have been evacuated by Nepal's rescue teams and put in camps.

Above ground, streets have been turned into rivers, with a lot of vehicles and debris swept along in fast-moving currents, according to international media reports.
