Dubai authorities confirmed on Tuesday that the fire on the giant Kuwaiti crude oil tanker, Al-Salmi, in Dubai waters has been successfully extinguished.
The Dubai Media Office stated in a press release carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the relevant teams are continuing to assess the situation and take the necessary measures, adding that any further information will be shared as it becomes available.
Earlier, the Dubai Media Office reported that Dubai authorities responded to the incident, caused by a drone, following established procedures. Marine firefighting teams worked to control the blaze, and the office confirmed that no injuries were reported and all 24 crew members were safe.
