Firefighters have brought two separate fires under control in the Greater Cairo area, including a blaze near Giza Governorate Building on Al-Haram Street and another inside a residential villa in New Cairo.

Civil defense forces responded quickly to a fire that broke out in trees located behind the Giza Governorate headquarters. Emergency teams managed to contain the flames before they spread, preventing damage to nearby buildings and ensuring public safety in the busy area.

In a separate incident, firefighters were dispatched to a villa fire behind Fatima El-Sharbatly Mosque in the Fifth Settlement district. Authorities said the operations room received an emergency report, prompting the immediate deployment of fire engines and ambulances to the scene.

Investigations revealed that the fire originated in a ground-floor storage area inside a three-storey villa. Security forces established a safety perimeter to protect residents and facilitate firefighting operations.

The blaze was successfully contained, but two people were injured. One suffered breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation, while the other sustained first-degree burns to the right forearm and foot. Both were transferred to hospital for treatment.

Authorities have filed an official report on the incidents, and relevant bodies have been notified to launch investigations and determine the causes of the fires.
