Fire in Chinese factory kills at least 6 people

On Wednesday, Six Chinese citizens died in a factory flash explosion in east China's Anhui Province, according to China's authorities.

The blast and blaze happened Wednesday morning at a thermal power plant in Dingyuan County in the city of Chuzhou in the eastern Shandong province, Xinhua news agency announced.

The horrific accident occurred during a welding operation to plug a leaking tank, causing the six people working atop the five-meter-tall tank to fall.

According to China's reports, a citizen was killed at the scene and the other five were rushed to hospital and died after medical treatment failed.

It's worth mentioning that there have been at least six similar deadly fires in China's factories in the region over the past decade.
